Ladera
Soccer takes pride in creating the best environment and learning experience,
for all the players in our region. By creating
this environment for our players, we require all volunteers that come in
contact with our players, meet certain safety and coaching requirements.
Every Volunteer that will be in contact with our players
MUST complete a Safe Haven “coach” Certification course. This course only needs to be taken once. If
you are going to be a Head Coach, Assistant Coach or a helper at practices you
MUST be Safe Have Coach Certified, before any contact with your team is
performed.
Every Volunteer needs to be “coach” certified for the age
group, in which you will be coaching.
The Head Coach and any Assistant Coaches MUST be coach certified for the
same age, in which you will be coaching.
Below is the table, which shows the certification, needed to coach your
child(ren).

Every Volunteer MUST be registered in the eayso system. Once registered, you will have a volunteer ID
number. This ID number will be with you
throughout your AYSO Volunteer Career.
Each ID Number is associated with the email address you used, when you
registered in the eayso system.
To start your Volunteer
Career at AYSO Ladera Soccer, you will have to logon to eayso, just as
you may have registered your son or daughter to play this upcoming season. Registering for the first time is easy. Just follow these steps:
1.
Logon to www.eayso.org
2.
Click on “first time”
3.
Follow all the prompts.
4.
Be sure to select region 1455 – Ladera Ranch as
the region you want to volunteer in.
If you are a returning volunteer, you will still have to re-register
for the 2011 season. It is a very simple
process, in which you must login with your email address you used when you last
logged on and re-register for the 2011 season.
When you login and there is no option to renew as a Volunteer for 2011, then you may have
logged in with the wrong email address.
You will either have to remember the correct login email address
associated with your Volunteer ID Number or Contact EAYSO to retrieve your
login information.
If you can
login correctly, but need to change your email address and you want to change
the sign-on email address into eayso, then click on “MyeAYSO” which is located
on the top left of the page, then click on “edit profile”. There you will be able to change your email
address, which is your login ID. The
next time you login to eayso, you will have to use your new email address.
Once you
have successfully registered as a Volunteer in the EAYSO system AND you have
been to one of the “in-person” registration days, in which you have signed up
to either Coach or Assistant Coach, you may now logon back into the EAYSO
system. There you will be able to sign
up for the certification classes which are required, as described above.
To successfully,
register for classes you may follow these directions:
1. Logon to:
www.eayso.org
2. Sign in with your login and password
3. Click on “ENROLL to take a class”
4. This will take you to the course
signup screen.
1. Select:
State: CA Section 11
Area L Region
1455 then click on the search button.
2. Scroll down and select the classes
you wish to take from Ladera Ranch.
5. If you wish to take a class outside of our
region at an earlier or later date, then change your search parameters. You may select the state: CA Section
11 and then press search.
Our Region hosted Coach Certification classes are as
follows:
6/25 Coach
Safe Haven Chaparral 8:45am Check-in
U6 and U8 Chaparral
10:15am Check-in
7/16 Coach
Safe Haven Chaparral 8:45pm Check-in
U6 and U8 Chaparral 10:15am Check-in
8/6 Coach
Safe Haven Chaparral 8:45am Check-in
U10 and U12 Chaparral 10:15am Check-in
Thank you
for Volunteering this season. It is
extremely important you do not wait until the last minute to get your
certifications necessary to coach your son or daughter this season. In addition to our Region holding
certification classes, our Area Director will have Coaching and Safe Haven
Certification courses being held at El Toro High School over the summer. The
Area normally has at least 2 sessions, in which they will hold these
certification classes. July 8-10 is one
of the sessions and there should be another in August, either the weekend of
August 12th or 19th.
Please logon to: http://ayso11l.org/calendar.htm
for more information on certification dates and requirements. As of this writing, the specific dates have
yet to be posted on the area website.
But keep checking the area website, it should be posted soon.
In order to be a head coach, you must
complete the certification requirements before June 30th, some
exceptions may be made, based upon proof of taking the required class(s). Teams are formed in July, and only
those Volunteers with the proper Coaching and Safe Haven requirements will be
offered a team. Head Coaches ONLY, will
be selecting an Assistant Coach. Those
Coaches that want to only be an Assistant Coach, must still meet all the
requirements, and will need to find a Head Coach to pair up with. If a Head Coach and/or Assistant Coach do not
have any preference in coaching with someone or simply does not know anyone to
be paired up with, then we will pair up coaches, with assistant coaches as
necessary.
There will
be a mandatory coaches meeting on or about July 12th for U5 – U8,
and July 13th for U9 – U16. The dates
are not in stone, but we are planning on these dates.
After you have Registered as a Coach Volunteer, please send me an email to verify what age division you would like to coach in.
Thank you and see you on the pitch,
John O’Neil

It is acceptable and encouraged that coaches take a necessary certification class outside the region if they are unable to attend our offered classes. Classes offered by other regions are free and fulfill all necessary requirements. The calendar of available classes outside our region is located here:
http://www.ayso11l.org/calendar.htm .
Ladera Soccer/UK Soccer Coach Training
In partnership with U.K. International Soccer Camps, we provide free Training Sessions for Coaches. Be sure to check this page or the events section of the website for dates, times & locations for upcoming sessions.
- Two coaches are allowed per team. All coaches must be properly trained and certified for their age group. At game time, a maximum of two coaches are allowed on the field and they must remain in the technical area at all times, unless called on to the field by a Referee.
- Any other parents that assist with practice need to have the coach training as well if they are to interact with children on the field, in order to comply with AYSO National's requirements. Safe Haven is required for each volunteer to comply with insurance requirements. Additionally, the parent must have turned in a volunteer form so that background checks may be performed.
Coach Code of Conduct
AYSO has always encouraged good sportsmanship in its programs. In fact, "Good Sportsmanship" is one of the five philosophies listed in the AYSO National Bylaws. Ladera Soccer / AYSO 1455 believes strongly in good sportsmanship and fair play.
Enthusiastically support and practice the "Everyone Plays," "Good Sportsmanship" and "Positive Coaching" philosophies of AYSO.
Be reasonable in your demands on a young player's time, energy, enthusiasm and performance on the soccer field.
Impress on your players that they must abide by the Laws of the Game at all times.
Develop team respect for the ability of opponents, and for the judgment of referees and opposing coaches.
Ensure that your players' soccer experience is one of fun and enjoyment (winning is only part of it). Players should never be yelled at or ridiculed for making mistakes or losing a game.
Set a good example and be generous with your praise when it is deserved. Children need a coach they can respect.
Keep informed of sound principles of coaching, growth and child development.
Check your equipment and playing facilities. They should meet safety standards and be appropriate for the age and ability of your players.
Follow the advice of a physician when determining when an injured child is ready to play again.
